1) Behavioural Therapy

Hypnosis is one of the most effective methods by which you can access your full potential.

It is a condition of profound relaxation which you allow yourself to enter, during which time there is an altered state of conscious awareness.  Most people can be hypnotised as long as they allow it to happen, want it to happen and expect it to happen.

Under hypnosis, you cannot be made to do anything against your will and you are, at all times, fully aware of your surroundings. It is like you are daydreaming, or are totally ensconced in thought or perhaps deeply involved in a fascinating book or a beautiful piece of music.

When a trained professional utilises the altered state of mind caused by hypnosis to encourage beneficial change to occur, the process is referred to as hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy can be used to solve a multitude of problems including stress, anxiety, panic, phobias, unwanted habits and addictions (e.g. smoking, overeating, cannabis addiction) disrupted sleep patterns, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, stage fright and migraine.

Before undertaking hypnosis, the therapist will explain to you the exact procedure and what is likely to occur. When you are under hypnosis, s/he will suggest ideas and ask you to imagine various scenarios that are going to help you overcome your problems. The hypnotic procedure generally lasts around 30-35 minutes. You will also, during the initial consultation, be introduced to the basic techniques of self-hypnosis and, in further sessions, be taught how to master this highly effective method of achieving calmness and tranquillity.
